We recommend taking your course on a computer with a web browser for the best engaging experience. If you'd rather use a mobile device, you can still access the course through a mobile browser, but downloading and using our app will give you a smoother experience if you choose to use your handheld device.


To access our course using our app, which offers the best user experience on handheld devices, please follow these steps:


  1. If you have to pay a fee for your course, do so within your account using either a computer or a handheld device browser.

  2. Once payment is complete, proceed to the app store on your mobile device.

  3. Download the SCHOOX app by clicking on the appropriate link provided below.

  4. After downloading the app, sign in using your account credentials.

  5. You can now access and take your course through the app.


We believe this approach will provide you with the most seamless and enjoyable learning experience. If you have any questions or encounter any issues during the process, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

  • I do not know my access code. How can I get it?
    First, simply type which city or county court ordered your class into our support chat. It should respond with the access code. If not, try asking the chat in the form of a question. If that does not help, send us a message on our contact form. Make sure you tell which city or county court ordered your class AND NOT which class you have been ordered to take.
  • I have completed my course. How do I access my certificate?
    To access your certificate of completion, please follow these steps in YOUR Civics Academy account's top menu: Click on the "ME" option. Select "MY CERTIFICATES" from the available options. Navigate to the bottom of the page and click on the "Certificates" tab. Locate the specific certificate you are looking for. Click on the "Click to View" button, which will enable you to download and/or print your certificate of completion. You are then responsible for delivering the certificate to the agency/person requiring it.
  • What do I do if I forgot my password?
    On the sign-in page, click "Forgot Password" to reset your password. If you have any issues resetting it, complete the contact form and we will assist you.
  • How do I download and use the app on my phone or tablet?
    To access your class on the app if you have to pay a class fee, follow these steps: You HAVE TO USE A BROWSER (on a computer or handheld device) to pay for your class. Once you do so, sign into the browser on your phone or tablet. Download the SCHOOX Civics Academy app onto your device. Use your username and password to sign into the app (avoid using the third-party option). Start taking your course.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    We accept credit and debit cards. We do not accept cash, checks or money orders.
  • How do I sign up and take my Court-Ordered course?
    To enroll in our courses, a referral from a court, school, employer, or another partner source is required. There are two ways to register for an account: Self-Registration: Click on the Registration option and enter the access code provided by the court that mandated your class. Fill out the information, which will grant you access to your account. Court Pre-Registration: If your court registered you, you will receive an email from Civics Academy containing detailed instructions, including a temporary password. Follow these instructions carefully. Once you sign in, we recommend watching the welcome video, as it will provide you with all the necessary information to successfully complete your course. Click the button to view our course library, select your class, and click Buy Now to enroll. Make sure you are not using the app to pay. You must be on an internet browser.
  • Do I have to pay for my class before I can start it?
    Yes. If your course has a fee, you cannot begin until you have paid for it.
  • May I use a coupon?
    Coupons are only issued to those who have met certain criteria. If the person that referred you to take you class did not give you a coupon code, you are most likely not eligible as our classes have already been significantly reduced in cost.
  • Will my probation officer, the court or other referring source know when I complete the course?
    Not all courts have access to your course status. As soon as you complete a course, you should email or hand in your certificate to assure they know.
  • Are there quizzes I need to pass?
    Yes. You will have questions throughout the course and will be required to pass with a minimum of 80% correct answers. If you fail an exam 4 times you will be required to review the previous section again then you will be allowed to retake your exam.
  • Do you offer refunds?
  • How long is the course and can I stop/start when I need to?
    It varies depending on several factors including your internet speed as well as your reading pace and how long it takes to explore each section. You can stop and start as needed but we encourage you to do so after you finish the chapter you are on at the time.
  • How many times can I log in and log out?
    As many times as you need within the 30 days after you have begun the course.
  • Is all the information I submitted to Civics Academy made public in any way?
    No unless your employer is also the referring source and requires your certificate.
  • Is all the information I submitted to Civics Academy safe and secure?
    Yes. You will be able to review all of our privacy standards prior to paying for and completing our courses.
  • Are the programs available in Spanish or any other language and , if so, how do I access?
    Three of our courses are available in English and Spanish - Responsibility Awareness, Drug & Alcohol Awareness and Theft Awareness. You must enable your browser’s Spanish version in order to trigger the course to be presented in Spanish.
  • What can I do if I still need help?
    Use the contact form or our chat feature to fully describe your situation and we will connect with you as soon as we can to help resolve the issue.
  • How do I contact Civics Academy Support?
    The most effective way is to complete the CONTACT FORM at the top of the CONTACT page. If our FAQs and CONTACT FORM do not address your concerns, then you may call our support number M-F 9 am - 5 pm EST. Our toll-free number is 888.713.2748.
  • I can't figure out how to pay for my course. I do not see an option to pay. How can I pay to enroll?
    Be sure that you are NOT using the app on your phone. Our mobile app does not take payments. You must log in on an internet browser, on either a computer or your phone, to pay before you can use the app to complete your course.
